Do factories work when your offline (can someone simply give a bit more detail about them)

if its in singleplayer once you log off they will stop producing but in a server there seems to be a thing which allows factory blocks to still produce even if they are out of render distance which to be frank is amasing that it works like that i hope this is of good help to you .

factories work by putting in a recipe from the shop and simply putting in the rescources if you have enough energy the factory block will do everything for you. if you connect them up you can make mor ecomplex things. I.E manufacture a hull peice and a circuit board from two seperate factories and have them conected to another factory block to combine and make a sheild block. this works to infinite measure and as along as you have to power and a good mining ship you can make just about every block in existence.
