Faction Leaderboard

Leaderboards and rankings. The leaderboard will recognize factions that are active and thriving. They will be ranked by members, activity of members, and number of wins and losses in skirmishes and wars. Factions will also be ranked by tiers. Ranks 1-5 will be Tier 1, Ranks 6-10 will be Tier 2, and, hoping you can count by 5’s, so on and so forth. Only the top 25 will be listed, the other factions will not be in tiers but will still have a numeral ranking.

There will be a template for an application to put your faction on the leaderboards. In the beginning, the factions will just be ranked by submission date, so don’t be alarmed if you have 50 members and are ranked 15th. Just give me some time to work it out.

Leaderboards will be updated weekly. Now I will need some help with this because I’m at school for 7 hours a day (sigh) so people that are active during the day will be needed, so just message me if you would like to help out. The only guidelines there is that you are not able to be affiliated with any ranked faction. And now, my 3 month project

And sorry, but no. If I want to attack someone I'll do it. Besides, battles without rules are already insanely rare. What you're suggesting would choke the life out of the little PvP that people currently have.

The idea by itself isn't bad, but it is easily misused/corrupted. And when that happens it'll turn the faction scene to a hell again.

Besides, if the attacking faction doesn't approve of this, what can you do? Nothing!
The Mods will only ensure, that IF a flamewar is on the rise, it'll be over fast or in the best case not even start.

Unfortunately.. Nobody is inclined to give such a third 'neutral' party power over them.
Especially not over things like war.

If you were talking about a 'Faction Championship/Tournament'...
You might actually have something workable.

But, war will be war.
People don't want someone butting in.

The faction drama and flaming is only a problem when it spills into the public area of Starmade. If it is somehow contained to private conversation/interaction between the factions involved, then there is no real issue.

Well how am I supposed to help this if my opposition is running on a potato? I suppose all factions members should post their computer specs and internet connection speeds when war is announced? No.

Turn this into more of a competition/ faction ranking system and I am sure people will be aboard cause who doesnt want to be able to claim to be the number one faction?? You can make it where factions only get points for winning battles if they follow a basic set of guide lines, may encourage more fair fights and more fighting in general.

PM me if you want to here some more of my ideas, certainly would be fun to create something like this.

These rules are ultra complicated and frankly, unnecessary....

By the time forum factions have war, the goal is very, VERY obvious. Drive the other faction OUT of the server or FORCE them to surrender and pay for damages.

Ok so. I never really intended to post anything more on this but i just cant resist..

Id like the idéa of a faction leaderboard
Or some kind of overall power of a faction. When i think about i remember how Heroes and might and magic had this tavern that you could goto to see overall statistic. Like

Who got the most artifacts.
Who had the highest level hero.
What monster was the strongest in each faction.
How many towns in total every faction had.
And The list goes on. I Will try to get a picture.


But my idéa is to do something similar?


What You have suggested requires to much work and as said.. It can be abused and how do you enforce it?

A legitimate faction doesnt need to be part of something like this
. Because of the pure fact... Why would they need to be?

It should be not only the respect, but the responsibility of a faction leader to discuss war terms appropriately and maturely. If a flame war is risen, then those faction's reputations are tarnished along with the respect from others.

That is the problem. If that problem is solved, there would be less fightng.

Remodel this for starmade use and faction leaders can pm someone responsible new details once a month

I agree, all wars should be carried out on server and as little (hopefully none) flame war like threads and posts on the forums, should anyone want to have these flame wars set up a chat with the people you want to rage at.

There is no real way to judge which faction is the best. factions have different goals. We're not sports teams.
