Extreme graphical glitching

I have been running starmade in its standard resolution for a few weeks, and it just doesn't fit on my screen. So today I decided to change the resolution to my monitor's 1280x1024 resolution. I stared up the game, and immediately I knew something was very wrong. When I look around, there's dark red lines and planes going through me and my ships and the shop I'm next to. When I switched to Fullscreen, the lines and planes became rainbow colored, almost like what happens when you crack an LCD monitor if it's on. This is a slight inconvenience as I cannot see a thing past 20 meters, and it's actually pretty creepy.
