    Found some (theoretical) exploit

You would maybe play with 2-3 friends, each having:
    1. Jammer
    2. One amc+pulse+ion gun
    3. Many cannon+pulse+punch-through in a checker-board-style
Then target a turret, fire ion-cannon, fire overdrive-beam, dodge, repeat.

Your first hit will split most weapon arrays of the turret, let them drain 1.1^x power with lower block count for doing damage.

If your checker-board weapon splits the turret gun into ~30 parts, it will drain 17 times power (because of that many arrays on one computer). The more blocks and the larger your checker-board puncher, the worse the effect.

Do you think it is possible?

What do you think about caused balance issues?

What if I mounted this kind of setup on turrets? :P

Hmm. Those ships wouldn't even have to be manned, as you could make a (possibly auto-starting) logic loop to activate the jammer, and beforehand, start it's AI.

    Oh, the horror.

Now imagine what that could do with a cloaker/cloaked mine.

You remind me of Ridik, the way you put that.
He's right, though. It's a good use of tactics, it can easily be foiled with swarm missiles or a damage/normal pulse to deactivate the jammer and blap the ship during the long reload (counter-tactics).

Rendered useless = Rapid fire and encouraging non-checker-board weapons.

    Exploit =
100 mass cb-cpp cannon vs 100 mass turret = 10-20 times power consumption
1000 mass cb-cpp cannon vs 1000 mass turret = 20-40 times power consumption (as there will be much more likely 1-barrel stuff).

It would encourage again larger = better to some degree, but what is even worse: spam = better.

Maybe computers should only be able to fire the largest 4 arrays or something like that. Needs thoughts

Dunno how that's really an exploit or renders anything useless. Pulse weapons need greater power capacity than their alternate combos. Ensuring that capacity, which you will want to ensure power outages don't drop the jammer, seems like it would inflate the ship without adding too much more combat capacity.

I wonder if the perfect predator for this tactic is a similar sized ship with more power capacity friendly weapons, or even the turrets they are designed to prey upon if the attackers themselves are AI controlled, since they would be creating counter-shotguns pointing back at them.
