If you like ships that are functional and sleek, you've come to the right place.

In this thread, I'm going to be posting screenshots/videos/download links to all Esthar Fleet Technologies creations. My designs are all based around form and function being in harmony - a good ship doesn't have to be ugly!

What are your ships based on?
I draw inspiration from various Sci-Fi works (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Final Fantasy VIII subject to interpretation, Phantasy Star Online, primarily.)

What information do you give of your ships?
    • Mass
      • Dimensions
      • Block Count
      • Docking: Dimensions of enhancers necessary
    • Power
      • Power Generation Rate
      • Capacity
      • Recharge time from 0% to 100%
    • Shields
      • Shield Generation Rate
      • Capacity
      • Out-of-combat recharge from 0% to 100%
    • Armaments / Tools
      • Primary Armament stats
      • Alternate Armament stats
    • Secondary Systems
      • Warp Drive - Yes/No, Charge time given the power generation of the vessel
      • Radar Jammer - Yes/No, length of jamming given the power generation of the vessel, recommendations on usage.
      • Cloaking Device - Yes/No, length of cloak given the power generation of the vessel, recommendations on usage.
      • Scanner - Yes/No, effective radius of decloak, recommendations on usage.
      • AI module - Yes/No, recommendations on usage.
    • Manufacturer Performance Review
    Combat Testing
All Esthar Fleet Systems ships are tested in real combat prior to the release of materials about them, in order to ascertain information to help other astronauts in their own customizations of an Esthar ship. The current means of doing this are:
    1. Three rounds of combat against AI-controlled pirates of a similar class
    2. Three rounds of combat against player ships of a similar class
    3. At least one assault against a pirate station (exact number depends on ship class; no one expects a dropship to destroy a pirate station.)
The results are compiled in each ship's Manufacturer Performance Review, to help you understand what the ship you are building will be best - and least - suited for in-game.

Added some images of the Defiance Medium Fighter!

    Preliminary Details
This is a mid-weight fighter (~75.0 mass) that is intended specifically as a turret killer or interceptor. It's equipped with two banks of homing missiles (indigo to be harder to see), two banks of autocannons (also indigo for the same reason), medium shields, and a warp drive for extended forays. The ship relies on its powerful array of thrusters for the sudden acceleration and deceleration necessary to avoid oncoming fire.

The ship is rear entry, between the thruster arrays. The ship core is enclosed in a secondary vault that will allow for a quick escape should it be necessary. The power system is a double-box reactor that wraps the command core. Shields generators are built into the hotbox, providing a powerful 66 shields/s regeneration rate.

The Defiance Fighter 1.0 can be downloaded here! Take one for a whirl and let me know what can be improved.

I'm working on a frigate next - some situations just don't favor fighters. Something stronger is needed.

Tonight, I decided was the time to start working on the Ragnarok frigate. Yes, that Ragnarok.

The final version will sport Red Advanced Armor, the super-turret underneath it, extending wings and engine nacelles when rails come out...but for now, it's just a really big (for me), reasonably-shielded ship.

    Esthar Ragnarok (Underside).png
Pictured Above: The underside of the Ragnarok, with the Defiance in the background still for perspective. The Nocx crystals denote future turret emplacements on the ship. You can also see the two missile launcher outputs. The primary cannon weapon comes out of the "mouth" of the dragon-ship. The missiles are hitting for about 7,000 damage on asteroids, and the primary cannon is dealing 455 damage per shot.

Pictured above: A dorsal view of the Ragnarok. The Nocx crystal at the front is just for show this time. You can clearly see the bridge and the observation deck below it. The deck plan is strongly based on the Ragnarok as depicted in Final Fantasy VIII.

At the insistence of the Drone R&D thread, I present to you Esthar Fleet Technologies new innovation: the EFS "Oreo" Drone - an assault drone made because here at Esthar Fleet Technologies, we love Oreos, and are always considering how we can weaponize them better.
