Error: Failed to save game

It seems my Starmade refuses to save the game ever while playing on singleplayer. It goes with the normal "saving game" blue popup on the left, and then a red one says something similar to "error: failed to save game". It does save my inventory, credits and blueprints, but never the ships, damage to asteroids or anything related to the map.

If anyone could tell me how to prevent this, that would be very appreciated.

Are you using steam? In that case, your StarMade installation is admin-protected, causing the game to be unable to create the files necessary to stores ships, etc.
Change the installation path in the launcher to an unprotected folder (e.g. "C:\StarMade") in the installation setting(menu on the top left of the launcher's window)
