Making a phabricator report on this now in the other tab.
While working on a new turret, I ended up not liking the core to docker positioning for the base, so I just deleted all of the blocks off the base (including the turret axis). The top half of the turret ghosted (went intangible and no longer registered as an entity, just had the visual representation that you could fly through), and shortly thereafter the ghost image vanished as well.
I flew around the immediate area, didn't find the turret top floating around in any nearby sectors, so I assume it just despawned out of existence. Tried making another entity of the same name and confirmed it, the original was just gone.
Which sucks, because that was a kick-ass turret and I hadn't saved yet. Oh well.
