Energy generators seem bugged in my opinion.

I recently discovered that the power units behave kinda weird as for energy generation:

I was trying to make a big ship, and when I had to put the energy generator, I realized that a 10*10*10 cube of them was worth less than a huge 3D cross (like 30-block-long line on X, Y and Z crossing at the same point), which totalized less than 100 energy thingies.

What was even more disturbing is the fact in some cases, adding a block to link 2 energy structures REDUCES the total e/sec ...

Moreover, while trying to exploit the game with those bugs, the server send us messages telling being lagged by my ship and to report a log to the devteam.

I don't know if the bugs were only on the information thing (showing the e/sec) or on the mechanic itself though.

What I would suggest is to simplify a lot the energy system and to simply makes the e/sec depends ONLY on the numbers of energy generators, and nothing else. That would maybe be "less realistic" than some system, but it wouldn't be exploitable ...

(Not like the game isn't exploitable atm, *build block + construction mode +symetries to harvest planets at the beginning* *cough* *cough*)

Is actually a feature, designing your reactors is important. It may seem confusing at first, but once you learn the system it is easy. There are lots of posts, tutorials, and wiki\'s covering this regeneration block system.

The box dimension bonus caps at 1 million regent, after that, only block count continues to increase the regeneration rate
