Who are we?:
We are a faction for roleplaying on Starmade centralized around whatever best fits with some ideas my friends and I came up with.
Roles in the Empire:
Military Combatant: Our men and women who serve on the forefront of the spatial battlefield.
Civilian Contractor: A civilian working in the military either to help in the construction of space stations or planetary colonies.
Military Engineer: The engineers working on combat ships or trade ships for use by our military combatants.
Trader: Pilots of the freighters we use to deliver equipment to our outposts, planets, and allies.
Civilian (Overall): Colonists moving to a system where our presence has been set up already, but don't want to be military. Typically explorers who go on their own and do minor trading instead of bulk shipments like Traders do.

Our ships are typically classified based on the server we are on. Our home server, Tethys, has their own classification system that is our base system of measurement (it is, however, a mass based system).

The Samatyan Empire dates back to the time in which Earth was long abandoned. Colonists formed together in droves to form many different groups. Among those groups were the first Samatyans. They traveled from star to star, solar system to solar system, before they finally found a world which they could once again call home. Their ships descended down from the skies and their equipment was unloaded. Those first colony ships were either dismantled for parts, turned into empty husks as museum pieces, or rarely used until a time where the Samatyans could construct their own fleets. It has been millennia since the colonization of Samatya, and the culture of those colonists has shifted from their original roots. The Ori, as they called their ancestors whom discovered and colonized the planet, were watching over them and keeping them safe, as if they were their own gods. Humankind had spread out among the stars, and Samatya was born from it, and with Samatya's growing population, their government formed.
Civilian Council (For all intents and purposes, an enigmatic group that is really just a set of dice that we will never see):
There is a Civilian senate for the government of the planet that endeavor to keep the people of Samatya and their empire happy as they explore. The senate is separated into 81 sub regional senators, 45 regional senators, and 9 Arch Senators. (Their specific abilities are written out and saved on several back ups).
Admiral Council:
The Admiral Council is made up of 9 Admirals (there will ever only be 3 member Admirals while the rest will be NPCs) and decides on the actions of the military.
Doci:
More or less the leader of the Samatyan religion, Origin (more on that later).
Supreme Court:
Basically checks if what is being done by the other branches is legal or not.
The Religion of Origin:
Origin is the belief system of the Samatyan empire, in which they belief that their ancestors have left clues to the location of Earth, and that their journey throughout the universe and the galaxies will lead them back to Earth, where they shall reclaim the land and repair the damages done by their ancestors. The Ori are seen as gods who chose to desert Earth to achieve a long sought dream (to the Samatyans) of achieving the equivalence of being a god.

- Follow the command of your officers so long as they are not completely insane or treasonous. If it will spark a war, the order is over their head unless it is the Regional Commander/Regional Admiral of your detachment.
- We are not a pacifistic empire, nor are we overly aggressive. If someone assaults your ship or the ship of an ally, we do not hesitate to use force.
- We treat our allies as if they are one of our own.
- Do not fire upon anyone who has not wronged you in some way. Verbal provocation is to be met with non-lethal force.
- Personal Vendettas are fine, but prevent them from reaching too far into politics.
