As we all know the shops present in the galaxy after the update has been greatly reduced. Money has become a scarce resource and the resource stashes many factions brought over before the update is depleting.

The Calderon Republic has been planing to solve this lack of resources by implementing a trade route between major factions and industries. Using Warpgates as inter galactic highways, we can easily allow for trade between factions.

The CR seeks the co operation and participation of factions who are interested in setting up this trade route, in an attempt for everyone to prosper.

In order to partake in the construction of the Warpgates please sign your faction up by making a post in this thread, and sending an alliance request on Elwyn Eternity. Calderon Officers will contact you through PM should the need arise. After agreements are made a warpgate connecting your territory to that of the CR will be formed shortly.

Factions involved in the Trade routes will be expected to defend their end of the warpgates their own as the CR cannot afford the manpower.

Warp gates will only be as big to allow small trade ships to pass, not standing fleets. Our shop will be open for other factions to buy from our shop using credits or from a member for larger purchases. Faction to faction trade agreements must be fair and benefit both factions.

I'm the operator and constructor of a currently expanding gate network, the hub system is open for any player to make a gate leading to it (its also public mining space) should you wish to utilize the space any faction is welcome to.

    System -5 0 3 owner(Titan's Hand)

Gates are coloured like leading to like, adding small mass limited gates isn't a problem.

PS: Nice to see something like this, factions of elywn uniting in trade.

May I recommend someone setting up a billboard for getting into the gate network at spawn?

Just a cheap piece of crap with lights and display modules, really.

For trade, it has to be faction to faction HQ, it isn't a network for travel, but trade. Given the faction who sets one up should have their hub be at their base not at spawn.

Well, it is a faction to faction trading thing rather than a free gateway to our homebase :p

Why to the headquarters? Why not to an outpost in an owned territory, with a core or astronaut size warpgate linking the storage area at the homebase to the shop, behind a factioned doorway or something?
With the faction system in place as it is, I'd personally be a bit on the paranoid side.
Realistically, there's not much a person can do to you with a small ship, but I feel that safety should oftentimes be a priority.

My suggestion: Choose a station to serve as a trade hub, and occasionally dump the non-sales-stock of supplies into your homebase.

Outposts can be destroyed and warp gates are expensive, which closer to the headquarter is better I think. Or at least in a home system.

I'm willing to set up as a trader with no allegiance to any faction, provided I get paid for my goods.

This sounds like a great idea. The only problem is that factions can use them to preform sneak attacks on each other. A solution to this could be to disable your warp gate any time you are in a war.

    Gates are extremely small.

Like 20 up, 20 across. Good luck getting anything with decent shielding or weapons through it :p

20x20? Bit small for a proper freighter, but I'll work with it.

But then, I suppose anything big enough to be a proper freighter is also big enough to be full of guns. :u

Think you could up that to a square 21x21? 19 width can fit through with decent piloting that way.
Edit: Just make sure a 19x19 squareish ship can get through it and I'm happy >.>

I will be willing to supply you with good for you to sell, all produced from our factories. We will use the shop price as a base, and for some items increase the price depending on need and availability.

If someone want to attack you, they will find a way. Doesn't matter really. The warp gates are for trade, but I'm sure others with have good and bad uses for them.
