I thought perhaps folks would like to see the dock information system I've derived which should make it easier to figure out where the docking module is (in the case of glare) and what size of ship can land at each dock.
As you can see, the lighted arrow points directly to the docking module, the number indicates the maxium (roughly) beam size allowed, and the D is just a helpful way to indicate exactly which dock you're on. This is for platforms that face away from the nearest star. No glare to make things difficult.
Here we are on a different section of the station, with the star behind the ship. It's a five-in-one dock, with a single spot for a size 45 (roughly) ship, or for four size 17 (ish) ships. The arrows and numbering this time are done in black armored hull plating, which is easy to pick out of the glare due to darker colour and different pattern on its face.
Here's the same platform, but seen from a different angle, where the star's light washes out the glow of the docking modules and docking enhancers. The arrows are easily visible, and you know the docking module is just a meter away from the tip of the arrow.
So that's it, hope this is helpful for those of you who hate having to maneuver around a bit just to see the bloody things in the light. XD
