Docking is giving me problems

I'm having a wird error with docking. When I make a ship with nothing below the Y axis on the core, it docks fine:

However, If I start placing blocks below the core, like so:

it begins to start pushing my ship into the docking module and into the ship:

The more blocks I place, the further down the core goes. Furthermore, when I undock my shuttle is still stuck inside the ship and starts spazming. Anyone know what's going on?

My guess is that the author has hastily pasted turret docking code (which places the docked core right above the docking module) into ship docking code to apply the turret-related fixes. This issue will perhaps be fixed in the next update because there was news of randomly generated structures with docked units (which would glitch greatly if this issue is not resolved by then).

I can suggest avoiding using ship docking until the update.
