The way docking works right now is... problematic, at best. Getting your docking enhancers set up in a way that fits the entirety of a ship can be almost impossible if your ship exceeds a certain size. Want to dock your capital ship to a space station before you log out? Lol nope, you better hope it doesn't float away.
So how do we fix this? The fix could be as simple as two blocks.
Instead of making a supermassive docking area for a ship, make a docking arm with a "clamp" block at the end. Then, instead of trying to fit the entire length of your ship into an invisible box, just line up a "connector" block on your ship to the end of the docking arm. This way, a ship of any size could be docked without needing thousands of docking enhancers.
Basically turn docking into lining up a pair of male/female connector blocks, rather than fit inside the magical invisible docking box.
Thoughts?
