Stuck in space with no ship? Ship majorly damaged? Too many enemy forces?

There are quite a few reasons why this should be implemented.

I'm not sure if it would be best as a block, item, or something in your navigation panel, but it could be useful in desperate situations.

You can only notice a distress beacon when in your map. Faction members will be notified through faction posts.

Here are some ideas of mine for the distress beacon:

    As an Astronaut:
The distress beacon can be seen within a range from...
2 systems (if in neutral system)
1 system ( if in enemy system)
4 systems (if in allied/faction system)

    In a Ship:
The distress beacon can be seen within a range from...
4 systems (if in neutral system)
2 systems (if in enemy system)
8 systems (if in allied/faction system)

    On a Station:
The distress beacon can be seen within a range from...
6 systems (if in allied/faction system)
3 systems (if in enemy system)
12 systems (if in allied/faction system)

Please reply below what you think!

    I think this should be added, it's a good concept. There are some unfortunate problems such as;
    1. What would stop you from killing yourself and getting back to your ship?
    2. What would stop you from repairing your ship?
    3. What would stop you from sending a global chat message? What about a faction chat message?
    4. What would stop you from making a faction post?
    5. What would stop you from just abandonning the ship that's probably useless to the point of not being able to move or even repair?
    6. What would stop you from deleting the whole ship in build mode and then killing yourself?
The inherent problems destroy the possibiliy of having a distress beacon/call and any chance of roleplay for that matter.
There is a way to fix all of that by making a "communication module" that would be required for chatting and mailing/etc. The larger the ship, the larger the module. That way you can get stranded. Next up would be making death an even more undesirable route.

I think a distress beacon is, with the points from MeepMoop, not really needed but I like the idea and for the game/role play aspect it would be nice to have the possibility for such a never ending loop signal.
