I'm currently in the early stages of plotting and building a station with an intent to house plenty of public facilities. One of these would be public parking.
The thought came up that with all the various things now possible with logic (especially through all that regex magic and display blocks):

Would it be possible to have a "parking meter" that displays time an entity has been docked to a specific rail?

    ...and to further that:

If so, is it then also possible to automate some kind of auto undock / purge of said entity via that same logic (or additional blocks etc)?

Obviously, we'd be looking at a day or two minimum parking time, so delay blocks are entirely OUT (unless some clever sod has a method of making a small clock and using regex / displays keeps a turnover count). While I'm not entirely a "noob" to logic, its hardly my main strength in game, so please be clear in your answers, thankyou!

LORDS OF LOGIC I BEG FOR YOUR WISDOOOOOM!

Edit: I figured this could also be used for other things, such as a self destruct countdown, or merely to countdown until launch for a shuttle.

"There came a a rumble from high on mount Logistica. Sachys the seer knelt before the mount, the sacrificial doombrick outstretched before him, awaiting the judgement of the Logic Lords."

"The rumbled deepened as their brilliant light shone forth, outshining the sun as they prepared to speak"

    "Fuck off lol"

Do you need it to persist after an unload?

IIRC there's no way for it to continue counting after unloading, but it's very easy. I'll say more tommorow if you're actually interested.

You can currently do countdown using display blocks and logical blocks, you have at your disposal the tools, now you just have to establish the uses that you want to give.

It is possible to create a "parking docks" for ships, an "anchor point", and allow to remove the parked ships if they fulfill some characteristics.
    ----------------------------
For a while, I was working on building a public shipyard, where each player, through a password, could "save" their ships in a bank, instead of coupling them to a point, deconstructing their ships, saving the blocks, and When he needed his ships back, he just had to enter his password, and the system would put the BP of his ships in the yard to rebuild it.
