I think having more and different options to choose from might add to the tactical depth of the game.
The Deflector effect will protect a structur from weapon fire within certain areas by changing the direction of projectiles (Maybe beams too? I'm not realy sure about that).
- The modules have outputs, just like weapons and the orientation of the computer decides in wich direction the area of effeckts unfolds.
- The stronger the deflector is compared to a weapon, the higher is the angle of deflection.
(With either complete deflection or none at all at extrem differences)
- The more modules a system has, the stronger it gets for all it's groups.
- Additional groups on one computer will icrease it's power use (Just like with weapons).
- More modules in a group will increase the affected area on that groups output.
- When areas of different Systems overlap, the total effect strength on this points will be identical to the bigger system's.
- A deflector system as weapon slave, gives an advantage over defencive deflectors (similar to ion againsed shields).
