    So I think EVERYONE can agree that the "default" pirate station's turrets are a bit ... well ... useless. Worst case scenario, a player approaches in a teeny ship and takes some damage before realizing he needs to go and upgrade his ship a teensy bit (which is still a gnat compared to most established players' ships), and then they're set to own PVE forever ...

    Being able to customize the pirate ships has been great, but I think now it's time to take the next step and allow for custom pirate bases and those abandoned stations too. I'd love to create a variety of different structures instead of the same 'ol thing every few sectors.

    At the very least, much beefing up is needed for the default pirate station. Seems to me like taking over one of those is the closest thing Starmade currently has to a "PVE Endgame" ... should be a LOT harder to tackle.

    If anyone knows of a way to do this manually, please share, but I think this should be part of the game.

    I\'m pretty sure you can go into the game files and swap a few things around so you can get player-made stations, but I have no idea how to do that.

    Depends on if the station is saved as its own file then loded up, or generated when the sector is generated. If the former, then its a matter of swapping out the file with a new station file. If the latter, then too bad, so sad.

    I hope someone can figure this out, or better yet, Schema will help us do it.

    I once found a pirate station and took it down by circling so the turrets couldn\'t hit me until it was too late. There should be better stations, certainly, but there also needs to be better AI.

    Maybe there can be super powerful pirate bases on planets. And to increase the power of pirate space stations, they should have a pirate fleet to protect it.

    Is it possible to change to the -1 faction with admin commands then go beef a pirate station up?



    Would be good to have a Station blueprint system, so we can check that \"enemy\" use box :D

    Currently the best thing for taking out stations is the \"teeny ship\". All you do is fly strait at the station and wedge yourself in. Then you can take out every turret from safety as you can maneuver yourself to accurately shoot the weak point of every turret. *POP* *POP* no more weapons computer and it\'s ripe for salvaging.

    Stations at least should always have escorting craft and lots of shields to prevent puny ships from beasting them but I would love to have blueprints for stations so we can customize what kind of stations spawn.

    I very much hope that changes are made. Currently turrets on pirate stations are derpy.

    Half the time they pop off the station and float away when I fly into range.

    I would love to see some variety in station design…
    Small, medium, and large

    • Military – greater chance of hardened hulls and possibly weapon blueprints,
    • Mining – lots of minerals, maybe the location of a L5 laden asteroid
    • Science – lots of science stuff! How about one of a kind decretive cubes?

    All should have functional turrets
    Minefields
    Missile launchers
    Protection squadrons
    Booby traps
    Shields
    Larger stations have better loot but would require a lot of firepower to take out

    I would even be willing to design and build a station or two… /bye see you in a month

    I agree on more Ai content but a lot could be done by users.I personally going to try to create a own faction.



    I also dont know how good new structures can be created by players since they seem to be procedurally generated (the asteroids of pirate stations)

    Pirate stations REALLY have to be clean. So, get rid of the huge holes and the purple-blue-iceCrystal crap that engulfs the station.

    this game is in alpha right now schmea is using them a place holders for better more deadly stations he is almost single handedly doing this game alone with the testers 99.999999% of all comments are actually geared towards beta testing be patient everyone geez in fact im pretty sure shema has a goal of making it so the pirates and irate stations will be cose in power as the first people who trigger thier spawn to make sure its challenging there only so much one programmer can do i know all of you have nothing but good intentions but like the saying goes the road to hell is paved with good intentions please just give schema some breathingroom and save all your good suggestions till beta comes out and let the poor man get it to beta give input when he asks for it only right now youll be doing your selves and him a whole lot of good



    go ahead and google or what ever your fav search engine is and see what the deffinition of a apha game is and you will see schema is ahead of the game so please give him some breathing room right now he is his worst enemy he has such high goals and inteneds to keep up with them its gonna kill / burn him out

    not sure where you been but in history pirate caves and such were anything but clean the reason for all that stuff is to simulate wealth and defense so you dont have a clean shot which is the pirate ways
