    You know, I have GOT to find a way to add extra blocks and non-block structures to the game.

    Right now there\'s only the block, sloped block, quarter sloped block, and the criss-cross used for plants and stuff.

    I\'m very sure there will be non-block structures in the end (such as interactive basic furniture and the like) but since the game is in an alpha state (although a public one) I doubt we\'ll see any of those items anytime soon as they ain\'t that vital to the game at this stage.

    There are a few things I\'d find very handy to have though, such as full rotation of the sloped outer corner blocks, sloped inner corners, signs and a fast traveling subsystem / computer.

    Finished most of the work on the canteen and as you can guess by the subject it ended up looking a bit different than I first imagined it.

    It looks more like an old diner than a sci-fi canteen, but I\'m not so sure it\'s a bad thing since it turned out rather well. The canteen is just as big as the medical bay so it became quite the challenge to come up with something that fitted the limited space without making it feel cramped.

    Not that much progress today.
    The factory idea didn\'t really work since you can\'t mount factory inputs on ships.
    So instead I turned my attention to ways of further improving the defenses and found two good spots on each wing for some additional small turrets, bringing up the total count to 28. There are still some blind spots, but in order for anyone to stay in those they\'ll have to be small and hug the hull of the carrier and if anyone were to do so I figure they\'d be easy prey for the fighters.

    I did also create the final crew compartments. Each of the 46 compartments measures 8m wide, 3m high and 11m long internally.

    What can you expect to see tomorrow?
    I don\'t know really. Unless I can come up with something to fill up some more of all the useable space I might do some more work on the turrets or create a fighter prototype.

    So, this weekend has been the finals of the alliance tournaments in a certain other internet spaceship game wich has kept me rather distracted from the carrier.
    This doesn\'t mean there hasn\'t been any progress made however.
    I did come up with a decent design for a small shield generator chamber (there are actually two of them) and I\'ve started filling out the unusable areas with power generators and shield dispensers.

    The capacitor holds about 4M worth of power and I figure that should be enough. I won\'t post the other stats since they will increase from day to day until the ship is done at this point.

    More attempts at comming up with fun stuff to fill the useable space with and more shields and power.

    Mostly been placing more shields today since I thought I was too tired to do anything more creative today, but I might have come up with an idea on what to fill the last major space in the main body with.
    I\'m going to be a bit of a tease and do some trials first before I tell you what it actually is, but I doubt you\'ll be disappointed.

    Not much of an update, but it will have to do. Now I\'ll get some well deserved sleep after an amazing employment interview.

    A thunderstorm made me unable to provide you with an update yesterday, but I did make some good progress on the main body.
    The last bit of useable space has been filled with the only thing that made sense on a carrier: more docks!
    A small hangar has been added to each side of the main body, quite far back. These docks can either hold a single heavy or two standard fighters.

    This addition raised the maxium crew to 50 and I\'ve made sure there are enough compartments available even though I doubt I\'ll ever see the ship working at its full capacity.

    Other than filling out empty space with shields (passed 400k recently) I\'ve finished the visual work on the engines.

    Now all that remains to be done with the main body is to fill up the last bits of space, seal the hull and find out where I\'m supposed to add her name. I\'m heavily considering the name Chelone (as suggested by DeltaE93) at the moment.
