    you might have to do a planet to get that. iirc skoomer said there were one or two of each that was planet only

    I found it once. I'll let you know where I find it. For now, I think your best bet is to visit all planet types, and all the segments on those planets, and you might get lucky. Try the desert planets first, I think it was there. After that you should try the red planets, and from then on I don't know.

    ah ok, that makes sense. i was just about to post that yes, im now 100% certain it does not spawn on asteroids. ok, so i guess i haven't harvested any planets that might contain it then (iv been concentrating mainly on asteroids. and a couple of planets only.)

    thanks for the heads up. ill report later if i find any.

    @OdraNoel , I think I know why you can't find Nacht ore. It does spawn on asteroids, and I've found it on the purple planet (not rare at all there, like all the other materials that are vital to salvage related things), but... it's bugged. What should be nacht isn't nacht. If you mine the ore which should be nacht, you get a hattel shard instead. Really annoying.

    Edit: It spawns on green asteroids, but because of the bug...

    The way I have this set up on my server is to empty the spawn shop and set everyone's credits to 0 at spawn. What would make the crafting as the primary method of getting anywhere would be to be able to set the Sell and Buy prices separately in the block config. I would set the shop to buy things at 1/4 the sell price. That way, you can still buy parts, but it would be a lot harder to get everything at once.

    I KNEW IT!!! xD hahahah iv been going crazy over it and was literally coming here to make a new thread specifically to ask if anyone has actually been able to acquire any. i almost got my self killed a couple times last night trying to find some on a planet. (unfortunately i wasnt recording :( ) and i went home with a nice big stack of just about every ore but nacht. plus it didnt make sense that there would be 8 new asteroids but only 7 spawnable ores on them. (all 8 shards do spawn tho) it means two of them are spawning the same ore type.

    So ya, thanks again for the feedback. i knew something funky was going on. i also just saw your report on the tracker. so i guess ill wait till next update. but at least now i have a good amount of the other resources. first thing im guna make is like....99999 shields. even tho ill really only be able to make like.....3 lol

    Edit: this also explains why hattel is the resource i end up the most with, because there are two diffrent sources of the same ore.

    Edit 2: also forgot to mention. i spent most of last night learning video editing and working on my first video. i even made a couple of new little songs for the intro and outro :p had alot of fun with it. so hopefully i will finish that by tonight and upload it. and videos after that will be easier because now i know how to work the video software. but id rather take a little bit more time to polish it as much as i can, rather then rush and upload a half assed video. also since i recorded these a few days ago, some of the stuff might seem "out of date" like in the next video youll see where i run into the ore block bug and stuff. then in EP 3 i start discussing the whole nacht ore thing. so ya, just a heads up so you dont think im super slow or dumb or something :p

    also currently the mushroom fleet has a new series where they crash land on a planet and go crafting only. i was watching it last night. its quite entertaining. they even made some of the same mistakes i did at first :p.

    for god's sake i am struggling with the new crafting system to craft a single hardened hull and you want to make it harder? but would be nice as an option though

    Have you tried doing thongs in this order: reactor -> core + thruster -> cannon + cannon computer + salvage cannon + salvage computer -> more of them -> easy hulls + hardened hulls -> everything but shield capacitors (can't make them due to a bug). It may seem really hard at first, but once you've got a large enough salvage ship, you'll be more than capable of making them. The hardest essential thing to create for your ship is the thruster, since it uses a lot of resources.

    Calbiri has said that the system is still changing, and he said that the new rocks (dolom, tekt, etc.) will spawn on planets and that there will be something like the minecraft grass. I think that means that it will look different, but when you mine it you won't get that different looking block (Yay for les inventory usage!).

    Edit: His exact words from the "ores/crystals spawn in veins" thread (by suggestions):
    2 types PER PLATE, also, veins should be occuring on planets and in asteroids, further, planets will eventually change over to the new rock types, as well as adopting a new ground cover system (like MC grass) the changes are ongoing.
    Edit 2: Having the stop modules cancel out gravity in stead of pretending to be overdrive would be really helpful right now...

    Again double posting to draw attention, but with a reason:
    I would like to here people's opinions on the cubatom crafting menu. In case people don't know what it is, it is a crafting system that is still in the game, and it can be accessed by pressing 5 on the number pad.

    My personal opinion:
    It is too clumsy and complicated. I have never used it, so I don't know how useful it is, but I don't intend on using it just because it is way too confusing for me. There are too many things to keep track of, too many things to keep in mind, and most importantly there is no filter, which means that you have to scroll throw every possible block/item in the game (except blocks like the death star core that aren't fully implemented).

    Edit: Reason why I only bring it up now: I wasn't fully aware of this crafting system until today, when I remembered about it and checked it out, both on the internet and in the game.

    ya the old crafting system was left in for now just so it isnt to jarring for older players to have it suddenly taken away and replaced. i think schema said in the patch notes that it will slowly be phased out in the next updates as its now redundant. so ya, dont bother too much with it as it wont be around for much longer. our real problem for now is the bloody nacht bug :(

    im updating now to the latest patch and crossing my fingers that the nacht bug has been fixed. altho on the tracker the bug report (#753) is still open, and with a low priority ( because it wasn't known at first to be preventing the acquisition of nacht). i left a message asking if it can be bumped to high since this kills the game for us hardcore survival guys. i haven't been playing this last couple of days because of it :(

    on another note its taken a bit longer then i expected due to render times and work and such, but this time i really am almost ready with the first episode of my lets play. the other episodes should be much easier to make cuz iv been struggling mainly with how to properly edit videos and stuff. its actually been a great learning experience for me and something i realize i should have started doing alot earlier back when i first started with MC. when its up ill edit this post, as well as make a new thread for it in the off topic section.

    To summarise the system for funny as well as others who are not familiar with it. Every block can be broken down into two "cubatoms" with 4 different attributes.
    I haven't access to starmade to explain these attributes ( which are spin, state of matter and two others I scarcely recall), they can be "refined" which mixes their attributes ( + spin and +spin become x spin ie positive spin and positive spin become super-spin) .

    This systems primary usage is a easy(ish) source of faction modules, straight from the spawn shop. Grey hull + black hull , refine the right two cubatoms and you can use the resulting cubatom plus another (from the grey hull) to create faction modules.
    Drawbacks being they are limited to 255 per batch and you must click once per module for refining (this is so you simply cannot spam faction modules) and you can right click on the "create" to get your 255 modules.

    Advantages are you can get millions from just sitting at spawn clicking away. Each module is worth 200k-300k iirc so selling 255*250k= 63750k or 63kk ie 63million.

    Its been in game awhile so I might finally get around to making a guide for it. Since one seems to be sorely lacking. Although I get the feeling its being phased out since few know how to use it properly.

    just confirming that no it hasn't been fixed yet, the nacht bug is still present.
