Alright, so I noticed that many people have following many different classification systems, and some times when people see a CR Cruiser they call it a battleship, so I have created this Forum topic so anyone who is intrested may use it for their own fleet or just simply to equip yourself with the knowleage so you do not mis-identify a CR Cruiser for a Battleship. Note that, CR warships are not classified by size, they are classified by their role in the fleet and function. If you insist on knowing their dimensions, I tossed in names and lengths of some CR ships so you can get a better picture.
Drone: According to the CR's classification, any ship that's primary function is to be piloted by an AI is in fact considered a Drone. CR drones range from the small 10m tall Oar class drones to the large 50m tall Maller class drones. Drone ussually do not have ship names, and ussually end with the word Drone followed by random numbers.
Fighter: The CR uses fighter for recon and easy travelling. Fighters ussually do not carry turrets at all, and are not given ship names. Common CR fighters are the 25m long Arblest and the not so common 17m long Templar.
Gunships: Gunships are usually slightly bigger compaired to fighters, but rely on turrets to provide its main offensive strength. The CR has yet to produce a gunship.
Corvette: Corvettes are designed to be the smallest and cheapest medium ships avalible and ussually carry out a large variety of task, such as recon, light engagement, and some corvettes, example to Venture Class and the Pilgrim Class are also equip for mining opperations. CR corvettes include the 71m long Legion Class, the 67m long Torrent Class, the 58m long Venture and the 80m long Pilgrim.
Frigate: Frigates are deployed by the CR as the cheapest combat capable ship. Frigates play esscort roles in the CR's fleet, and due to their cheap cost are expendable. Frigates are ussually assigned to Captains that are new to the CR, and have not been graunted access to larger CR ships. Currently only the 120m long Desolation Class is in active service.
Destroyer: Destroyers are ships built purely for cannon based DPS, meaning they have excellent range, and damage, but do not use turrets as their main offensive. Destroyers ussually have frigates flying escort due to their lack of shields, and are rarely deployed by the CR. Examples include the 170m long, Generation one CR Ravager Class.
Cruiser: Ahh Cruisers the CR's favorite ship class. Cruisers are the back bone of the CR's fleet. High speed, high maneuverability and high firepower, cruisers carry a large array (above 10) of Medium turrets, and at the same time carry powerful on-board weapon systems. Although not much in terms of shields, the CR's crusiers can dish out considerable damage to even the biggest enemy capital ships while being small enough to manuver out of most "doomsday devices" found on-board enemy ships. Current CR crusiers cost between 100mil to 200mil credits. They include the famous 210m long Absolution Class and the new 311m long Resolution Class.
BattleCruiser: BattleCrusiers are built as sniper ships, with range no lower then 5km, they are ussually escorted by cruisers or frigates, and carry an array of point defence turrets to fend off fighters/drones. CR ships of this class includes the 380m tall WIP Mentor Class.
Battleship: Battleships are the capitals of the CR, carrying massive AMC arrays on-board as well as an array of heavy turrets. Battleships are not only strong on offence, but pack a ton of shields, no less then 8mil. When you see a CR battleship, you know we mean bussniess. CR Battleships include the 420m long Calamity Class nicknamed the CR's Juggernaut and the WIP 520m long Revelation Class.
Dreadnaught: Dreadnaughts are essentially Heavy battleships, but instead of carrying heavy turrets, they carry the Infamous CR Super Turrets, Currently no dreadnaughts have been constructed by the CR.
Titan: Any ship that is ridikulassly large with no appearent reason but cant be called anything else because it doesnt fill the role's requirements. Example the Titan built by the Insurgent Baalzann, which streached 1.2km long and had zero point defence. (genius)
Drone Carrier: Drone Carriers are small tactical ships that carry drones as their main purpose. CR ships of that class include the 100m long Assurence Class.
Carrier: Carriers are much like drone carriers, are able to carry fighters and gunships, along with drones. CR Carriers include Leanson's WIP, length undetermined.
SuperCarrier: SuperCarriers are much like the other carriers but are able to carry Corvettes and Frigates in addition to drones, fighters and gunships.
Further Classification:
Light- Any ship that barely meets standards but are used due to low cost.
Heavy-Any ship that speciallizes in shields and tanking damage.
Assualt-Any ship that speciallizes in DPS
Incase you are confused by the "Further Classification" part, here's an example, a ship has just rolled out of the production line, it has great acceleration and great turning speed, its hard point are able to carry over 10 medium turrets so it is classified as a Cruiser. However it does more damage then the average CR cruiser but has lower shields, thus it is classified as an Assualt Cruiser.
Thats about all you need to know about the CR classification system, untill next time.
