This is my formal letter of resignation from the council of intergalactic representatives.
Let's get straight to the point: I made an error in judgement when applying to the third council term, and didn't gauge my already waning interest in the game properly (I expected it to bounce back like it always had). Truth be told, I have very little energy and motivation to invest in the game at the moment. This is due to multiple factors, including but not limited to being tired from my full time job, and finding more interest in other games. In addition, the complete lack of two-way communication between the council and Schine have been very taxing on my patience and trust in the council. What ate at me the most is the fact that nothing has changed, despite the problem being brought up on multiple occasions. As such, I apologize to other councilors and devs that I may have insulted or aggravated with ranting and/or repetitive suggestions (since I literally have no idea if Schine even read them).
In essence, I simply do not have the energy, time or will to conduct proper council duties anymore, and as such can't adequately represent parts of the community that have voted for me anymore. For that, I sincerely apologize.
I will probably be back some day, and will still be on the forums and in-game occasionally. It was a fun journey, and I wish luck to the current councilors, my replacement, and members of the community that will see this game grow to the best of it's insane potential.
Indeed, I hardly have any incentive to play the game at the moment. I'd love to finish my titan, but the constant performance drops in the last updates have all rendered it completely useless (due to lag), so it's not like I'd even be able to actually use it.For Once we can agree on everything said here by Keptick.
We were saying all the same things too.
As we experienced this and it carries on for you too...
This is "Funny Mate"
check your salt at the door as personally I'm waiting for the release of this game to play again.
+1 and yes x 1000...I know that myself and many others could care less about new features being advanced and would simply prefer Schine to fix all the broke shit that is already implemented in the game...
Translation: "We at Schine don't give a rat's @$$ about how any of our players feel, or how crippling all the bugs are to their gameplay and their servers. We want to dink around with our own agendas which include: 1) new things to break the game, 2) taking out old things that weren't broken, 3) ignoring things we've promised for +2 years....A big factor contributing here is the lack of results. Unfortunately we cannot give attention to feature requests, suggestions and certain bugs or issues because of our priorities. Over the course of time this appears as a lack of actual progress...
Wat. I thought all of Schine was supposed to be in that Slack room...Schema has joined the council slack (chat system used by the council). This is a MASSIVE step in the right direction, since it eliminates all the middle-men information bottleneck bullcrap that had been pissing me off since the first council. Now the council will be able to communicate directly with the person that essentially makes all the decisions final!
Nope. It all went through criss, hence the "Middle-man info bottleneck bullshit". In fact, I never spoke with Schema in the 1+ year that I was in the council... Not even once... (until yesterday)Wat. I thought all of Schine was supposed to be in that Slack room...
Thanks a lot for the kind words!Sad to see you go, you were my absolute #1 favorite councillor of all times and always got my first vote.
I really hope you will eventually find back to the game. You were the inventor and initiator of what was probably the most fun (and gigantic) group project in starmade history, the drone R&D thread - and at the same time, there's still a ship we all want to see finished one day, a ship whose constant updates over the years have accompanied the game's development. Keppers, you rule, and I hope I will see you again here, the game would never be the same thing without you if you left permanently! (perhaps after the inevitable performance improvements of future updates? )
