The Clan RATO has the idealistic objective to ensure the freedom and the survival of the smaller factions and lone one-man-factions, even if that means challenging, against all odds, the most influential and powerful empires of the Starmade universe.

It is a good place to those who look for something new, outside the major and known factions over Starmade.

The Clan's Guidelines :

1) On the normal day-to-day basis, you are free to use whatever ship you would like to, be it cataloged or built by yourself, as long as it's not a doom/borg cube or doom brick. However, in the events of official military operations and battles inside real wars, you will have to use the Clan's official ships for the action.

2) You should only engage/attack/initiate hostile actions towards neutral people/factions if you are provoked or if I or other pack leader say so.

3) Be reasonable. Think before acting. That means for external factors not getting involved on unnecessary flame wars either in chat or in the forums ; For internal factors, pick up only the resources you actually really need from the depot, don't get everything possible. (Put yourself on the place of your other clan mates).

4) Activity is not mandatory, because real life is more important than a game, but I ask you to at least let me know if you are quitting the game or will be back in the future.

Brief story of the faction's brand :

DRAFT - NOT READY YET
The Clan (brand) was established on march 2012, as a Minecraft group from the Bluehell Produtions Server. It grew quickly and became one of the most influentional clans from the server. However, the server has been closed due to political trouble and all the base and resources have been lost.

The group tried to restart it's way in the Famcraft server, still in Minecraft, but the impact of Bluehell's shutdown have let everyone afraid of plaing the game for serious again, since there is always the risk of losing all the projects and the builds.

With the discovery of Starmade, some people from the old clan tried to bring it back into the new game, since it showed some exiting features that countered the worries of Minecraft, mainly, the blueprint system.

However, with some time the clan got disbanded, since most of the people lost interest on Starmade. But only one person, Korke, kept it's mind into the game, since he had a duty there - being Illusive's moderator.

After some time, Korke got promoted to admin, and wished to revive the clan's brand, but since he was a major staff, he was'nt morally allowed to do such thing (could result in drama if entered in conflict with other established factions). However, the faction was still created - but as a server-friendly NPC faction. It remained like that until Korke's departure from Illusive staff, due to real life problems.

Seven months later, Korke returns and tries to create the faction, now on Elwyn Eternity. Unnamed25 has joined at that point as the secound in command. The faction focused to protect and teach the newcomers from steam on how to play the game and to share some tricks that we had, but despite all our efforts, they quickly lost interest on the game since it was lacking features.

Now, after the reset, we will attempt to keep our established duties and continue to fight for freedom.

Official ships :

If you are a clan member and wish to have a ship built by you inside the official list to be used on operations, you can just ask and I will check if it's suitable for a role, and check if the systems are well-built enough. A refitting of your vessel could happen in order to make it official.

Do you want to be part of the clan ?

We are now on a restructuring phase, it's time to refit our ships, finish what's unfinished, and only then, we will get to activity on the public servers (EE and SS).

For that, we're looking mainly for people who are more inclined to building then getting in action, since this work will take a while.

Yea, I've been around for some time getting back on my feet again, waiting for the right time to make the faction "publicly known". The concept of the faction is old, since the Illusive server times, but since I was staff, I was'nt morally allowed to make a faction with players - It had to be an NPC faction for PvE events instead. But now I'm back, as a player, and now I can make this faction true.

Also, since you are on EE, and you share similar main objectives, I would like to formally invite you to give your input during the drafting of the United Elwyn Factions Charter document. It's set to users being allowed to comment. and so feel free to type in whatever you think it needs or has too much of. we will have a group discussion about changes in about 1 month, and after that, we will finalize the document and follow with a signing of factions (signing your faction leader's username and faction logo)

Introducing Clan RATO's new Assistance class escort corvette!

The Assistance class was a joint effort by myself and Korke. She's 115 meters long, 43 meters wide, and 22 meters tall. Weighing in at just over 4100 mass, this corvette features powerful weapons and shields, jumpdrive capability, and four point defense anti-missile turrets.

Also, the ship roster on the first post of this thread have been updated, and a new Battleship is on the works, in a joint operation. The name of it has been chosen - It will be called "Avenger". Pictures of it comming soon.

Those actions did not cause any financial harm to the cause, but it has became a subject of a personal hunt.

Since we are too busy building our fleet, to cover all roles and size ranges, we don't have time to be online at EE all the time for hunting. The !bounty plugin does not work, so we are offering a few amount of blocks, should they be killed and their vessels destroyed. Send me a screenshot by PM proving that you did it, and we can negotiate the payment.

Progress is being slow due to Real life obligations and the big quantity of ships in queue production. We seek to have multiple ships to carry out multiple functions and roles. Soon enough I'll be able to post images of those, since I cannot do this right now because I'm at work.

previous factions: None thus far. As I have a lot on my plate in the real world, and the uber-militaristic build-and-dominate mode of most factions hasn't really appealed to me, I've chosen to remain a self-sustaining lone wolf player that has floated around a few servers.
What do you expect from Clan RATO: Overall, I really dig the clan's "idealistic" objective, your inclusive stance, and the idea of working towards more than simply conquering in a game that I think has a lot of potential for more than just war. But when it does come down to it, fighting for the "underdogs" of SM is exactly what I'd like to do. Also, as I said in the previous question I have a lot going on on this side of the screen and can only play on and off, so I really appreciate that y'all recognize real life comes first.

A very old ship from the Clan has been refitted, now with the new point-defense turrets, usage of pentas/tetras and re-made systems.
The Watchdog is back in service.

Also, due to the lack of content and things to do in the game, (the fact that almost every single major faction on EE is inactive is a reason as well, lack of things happening) we will be mostly playing other games intead of Starmade. We will be watching the server from a distance and return if something interesting happen.
