Simple, activating the jump drive computer once will start charging it without needing to hold down the mouse button. No changes on power consumption or cooldowns if the power runs out, it will stop charging.

Only problem with logic control is that a computer controlled by logic loses its core link to it and then you can't place it on the hotbar which means you can't actually activate jump with right click with the current computer/logic setup.

But yes I would like it to keep charging after clicking once and even logic to start charging after jumping. Of course you would be responsible for the ship design to handle the power drain.

But we've got interior remotes for just such a thing :D

True but you can only send one active/inactive signal with any logic including the interior remote. You have currently charge jump drive and activate jump. That's two separate actions you have to control and you have one on/off switch with logic so you can only control one of those two things. It might work if the jump drive is auto recharge like the scanner then you only need to activate it to jump but then at that point you might as well have it on a hotbar. If you did though you might have power issues with a few ships after the jump during auto recharge.

    hmm damn... More thinking required.

How about the jump drive charges on high signal and attempts to jump on low signal, and emits a signal on charged. Thus one remote can do all you need it to :D

What about if you charge the jump drive normaly it happens in normal time, but if you were to do it on auto mode where its always charging up it does this much slower say like 1/10th or 1/5th the normal time, or whatever as a penalty, for always being on as to prevent an overload of ships systems, or to make sure power isn't depleted as quickly from other systems

Can double-clicking a button be registered? I'd say that it would be nice to double-click to start the automatic charge. Any button press or click stops the auto-charge. That way, you have to focus on the charging and can't do anything else (like maneuver or switch hotbar slots) while auto-charging. If you want to be able to do other things at the same time, you have to revert to manual charging.
