I think that to make the game more realistic, cargo pods should be implimented. These would add extra slots to your inventory when inside the ship with them on board.

This means you cant have a planet eater that can fend off anytihng, you need the cargo pods to store what you're salvaging meaning more dangerous trips to and from shops and a more difficult and fun gameplay. This also means you cant have a superfast salvager that also serves as a warship but instead you would need and escort or just try your luck, this would make the game much more realistic in terms of a wider range of ship roles and tasks.

Each cargo pod weighs 4mass and adds 2 extra inventory slots

A couple of things would have to be changed though for this to work effectively:

-Default inventory set to 9 slots (18 including hotbar)

-A max items in an inventory slot (500 perhaps)

This makes the trading more realistic as you have to make more trips to and from and you have to specialise your ship to contain cargo pods etc. you cant have a fighter transporting 10million 1meter cubed lumps of rock around anymore.

But why would anybody use that as u can have plexistorage which takes one block of space and has virtualy no mass. Also the blocks stack infinetely so there is really no need for that unless those get a nerf. Good idea though :)

I don\'t enjoy nerfs that mean more time spent doing dull trips back and forth to storage. 500 blocks is nothing for an Eater of Worlds.
