I can't see the wedge when I'm trying to rotate it. I'm using a macbook air, 13 inch (my pc ded). It hasn't always been like this, but even after clean install it is still this way. Are there any settings that could affect this?
Are you unable to see the block on your cursor or the block in the advanced build-mode window? If it's on your cursor, 'preview block to build' may help.
