Can't change orientation of blocks in Astronaut mode?

I'm trying to place a turret for my station, but I can't change the orientation of the turret docking blocks in astronaut mode. It would help if I could change the orientation so that my turrets don't stick in the ground. Thanks.

Add a build block and access the build mode from there.
