Has this happened to anyone? Your framing the hull of your ship and start laying down the actual hull blocks you want to use. You get about half way done with the entire hull and suddenly it hits you... Red! It would really look better in red than grey. Oh... yea it would but now I have to... I have to replace.... and its sixteen kilometers long... and I have to replace... *cries*

Obviously this would be so much simpler if there was a block swap building command. Something where you can target a ship you own. And swap one block id for another block id. i.e. /Swap_blocks 5 76

In additon to this a block delete command would help as well. be a nice way to remove all those shields or engins or whatever.

    Right now we have smedit.

    http://www.starmadewiki.com/wiki/SMEdit

With this You can paint Your ship and much more. I don\'t know many uses of this program, just used it when i\'ve built ship wrong way and needed to change the orientation of core. Right now there is no way to save blueprints of the space stations like a ships, so we can\'t edit them in smedit, but I think it is planned to allow saving this type of blueprints.

    • But if I use grey as primary color, white as secondary, black as teritary and want to replace them before I buy the blueprint?
    • \"replace-block with this one I selected\" would also be cool. You could paint with colors, not have to worry about ruining your shape.
    • Delete only selected?
    • Delete/replace only blocks visible to the player before the change applied?
    • Automatically turn wedges/corners to smooth + Automatically turn wedges/corners to not smooth, keep primary base turned in the same direction (only 4 rotations, everything else is automatic)
    • At least 2x2x2 select+paste for thin ramps.

SMedit can indeed do it but its tricky especially due to lag with bigger ships. An ingame feature to replace colors on blocks or the blocks themselves would be very handy, if you want to recolor your ship in a certain faction color scheme for example. A specific \"faction color block\" or \"multicolorable block\" could also be a good, idea but i think there\'s already another older forum topic on that.

Or have painting ability. Select paint in toolbar, and select hulls to change color.
