I just farmed credit to make the shop empty of shield stuff and upgrade my ships by killing pirates and hunting for dropped loot-clouds, then i tought "why i have to dance around for the loot with my slow battleship then warp to a shop that maybe can't even buy the stuffs cuz full"
Also after a few hundred kills i cant even see the loot-clouds because wrecks are everywhere and even if i can see them most of time i can't get there cuz the wrecks block the way.
My ship is good in destroying things while standing in one place.
I also added shield rechargers and shield caps to the pirate station to withstand my farming :D

So why pirates dont give some credits to the player who made the core overheating.
It would be usefull for players with big, slow ships (like me) to get money without dancing around picking up loot thats not even needed.

    Its me in pirate farming:

I would love to see pirates drop cash, when playing shop free survival you don't really have anyway to make money for stations.

I particularly hate getting loot that you cannot sell because they don't allow it in the shops, non-repeating delays, burnt white soil or maybe it was burnt white dirt, ether way I ended up having to go off and pitching it out an air lock and running before I decadently picked it up again.

I'm sure some cash reward mission is coming. The NPC's have code to allow missions but it's incomplete and basically just filler dialogue for now...

No doubt one of the missions will be 'go here, kill X,Y and Z for A reward or B blocks'.

i also had the same idea. but i would tie this into play style choices.

i.e Trading guild being the "Good" guys and the Pirates being the "Bad" guys.

Players who hunt pirates would get a credit bounty while players who raid Trading guild ships/shops will get blocks.

The idea is that players can choose a side in the conflict. Fight pirates and get rich doing so OR raid merchant ships for their booty. while piracy is more lucrative it is much more dangerous as the trading guild is powerful and relentless.

i would keep this system separate from missions or at the very least tie it into faction reputations. perhaps raiding trading guild ships will get you on the pirates good side and they will be willing to offer you missions

If they would make it with mission than a token reward what u could exchange for block or credits.

-But what i really wanna see is getting credit by killing npcs with/without mission and reward for each skull.
I want to farm credit like in EVE (IDK if its allowed to write another games name, but if not it will be deleted either way) where u kill npcs at combat sites and get credit reward as bounty payouts.

-Right now u hunting for these pirate dropped loot or bore ur brain to hell while mining ores then wandering from station to station to be able to sell them all. So basically u fill up the shops with items that no1 want to buy. This will lead to make money making harder after u filled all the station in the system, so u have to goto another system to fill the stations up again... and so on...

-if we go further...change item dropp to only credit...
-> it would make items able to get only by crafting ->economy would start to rise ->trading factions, crafting and mining factions ,!pirate factions! and ofc mercenarys :D

Changing a little thing would make the game more lively...

It makes sense that you should get a credit or two for each kill. That's an enjoyable aspect of at least one of the other space games I have played.

Maybe credit reward = floor ( target max block count / 10,000 ) + 1 to give more credits for substantially bigger ships.

I'd like every block that is killed in fights to re-appear in scavenger ships which turn to pirates.
    > > > Space population < < <

The more you fight pirates, the bigger your faction grows, the less other factions gain.
The more factions fight each other, the more pirates are there to earn money.

    Something like a matter-circle.
