both cannons don't work?

after building a ship and connecting the cannons to the proper computers they don't seem to do anything when I fire them.

Is the main weapon computer facing the right way? The direction you face the computer is the direction it will fire. Screen of the computer facing toward the back of the ship to fire forward.

The Support and Effect computers can face any direction.
