Has anyone found a good way to get a boarding party aboard an enemy ship? So far I've been trying to figure out ways around the problems of breaking shielding so they can actually do damage, gravity, and just keeping up with the ship so that they can get aboard.
What I've experimented with was using a dropship style, basically the gravity sphere from a gravity block keeps going down below the ship, so you get a "Down" facing door that you point towards your enemy and then they open the door and "Fall" out onto the ship and have gravity for a time, hopefully long enough to get aboard and inside. However I haven't been able to do much testing in actuall combat conditions and I suspect that faction modules and permissions would give potential boarding parties a lot more trouble. As currently, I have it set up so that the would be boarders put disintegrator bombs on the hull, the lower camera spire on the drop ship touches them to set them off, and the team goes in through the resulting hole.
The other Idea I had was just using antimatter cannons to cut a hole but if I could do that I don't particularly see the point of sending in a boarding party to begin with. So...
Any thoughts?
