Hey guys, I know most of you knows how to make 3D models (.obj) imported to Starmade blueprints, not sure if it still works since SMEdit is outdated, but well, that is not the situation for now.

What I want to do is to import a Starmade blueprint to a 3D model. Pretty much the reverse path from what we learned.
Does anybody know how to do it ?

The biggest problem with that is surface detection.
If you go from 3D model to block-grid, the 3D model gives you surfaces, and you just have to place a block whereever this surface passes through a block's bounding box. However doing the reverse thing is almost impossible, since during the conversion of plain->block-grid data is lost, because the block-grid is a grid and not a floating construct.
