Hi, I downloaded and installed StarMade last week and immediately got hooked up. Let me present what I've been up to:

    ...

Blackwing enterprises recently acquired Tuskan industries, a company that - despite its recent financial struggles, has been in the starship market for decades.

Tuskans best known product has been the Tn371 heavy long haul transporter. Designed more than twenty years ago, and many have been in service for just as long as the mainstay of many a traders fleet.

It has never been a beauty. The design is dated, and bulky, but in the world of cargo traders, its high reliability and huge cargo capacity made it a valuable asset for any trading company.

Access to the manned area of the craft through upper airlock

Elevator to bridge and lower decks

The cargo area is over 100m long and extremely spacious, ready to load bulky freight, like military equipment (reactors, missile launchers, turret component, and so on)

Tuskan's decline came with todays troubled times, which put a major blow on civilian trading. To protect the trading fleet, Tuskan had developed and sold a limited amount of Tn371-ER escort crafts.

The Tn371-ER is based on the freight version, and still has significant cargo capacity, but its rear cargo compartment has been converted into a spacious hangar for light weight escort craft. (It can house two Isanth-VI easily), further docking facilities on the external hull for even bigger vessels, 8 small twin antimatter-cannon turrets for self-defense, and improved deck layout to allow easy access.

While popular, the success of the Tn371-ER refit was too little, too late to solve Tuskan's financial troubles. Luckily we had just been waiting for such an opportunity and gladly invested into the struggling company.

In their focus on the trade market, Tuskan had failed to see the TRUE potential of the Tn371 design. We, of Blackwing enterprises have a different target audience in mind, and immediately started refitting one of the Tn371-ER's into our new prototype.

we stripped the outer hull panels, exposing the extremely sturdy and well designed superstructure of the Tn371...

Installed a significantly larger reactor core, as well as state of the art high energy shields.

And equipped the former Tn371 with an impressive arsenal of capital ship torpedo launchers as well as 16! 3x3 naval cannons with impressive 30m barrel length!

Then we upgraded the ship's interior

We installed a state of the art emergency crew evacuation system, with a high speed escape pod docked directly under the bridge.

Which we equipped with state of the art tactical computers, and installed armored plating around all critical systems. We also changed the internal deck layout.

To be more accomodating for the needs of a military vessel.
The outer hull was also re-planked with state of the art armor plating. On top of that we upgraded the propulsion system with addidtional fusion boosters to provide speed and propulsion fit for naval operations.

Most notably however we installed capital ship anti-matter turrets on all existing hard points.

Including two massive large caliber twin space artillery guns on newly installed top and bottom turrets.

All turrets are equipped with internal energy supply and state of the art self sufficient shielding.

Behold, this is our new flagship product:

    The Elysium destroyer!!!

We immediately put the prototype to a test, first a test of the primary weapon system against an unarmed target:

(note, this was done AFTER the missile downscaling patch >;)

With all weapons functional we decided to hunt down a custom modified Tn371-ER in use by a local pirate lord to demonstrate the Elysium's combat abilities:

Despite the assistance of several support craft of type Isanth-VI, the pirate lord didn't stand a chance. The surviving crew surrendered after a missile hit on the bridge took out all systems and killed the commander.

As of today, Elysium class destroyers have entered full scale production, order now and ensure yourself a top position on our waiting list. We will also offer refitting existing Tn371 and Tn371-ER type craft, and of course continue to provide maintenance service for any freight carriers still in service.

    New space dock enters service.

Blackwing enterprices is proud to present our new space dock facilities in orbit above Turnia 4 in the Lunatis sector.

The space dock is located in synchronous orbit and connected to the planet based space port by means of a \"space elevator\".

It connects the underground facilities with the space dock and allows easy exchange of material and personell between ground and orbit.

A tradititional shuttle landing strip and docking facilities also exist on the ground

The view of the space station coming in sight through the thinning atmosphere as the elevator rises.

The new space dock allows us to double our production rate of capitl ship, as it combines the large scale assembly facilities of a space station dock with the resource abundance of planetary production.

Lovely ship, looks really bad ass. Hopefully we\'ll see more ships from Blackwing in the future. One little nugget of constructive criticism though, your first pictures show your power generation system which is holly ineffecient. While it has multiple dimensions you put all of them together in one big block, instead make seperate one block thick lines to massively increase your generation of energy.

Also, wrong section(at least for showing builds)?

Yeah you are right, I might should put future posts into the faction or \"projects\" area :)

Regarding power, are you sure? I was under the impression that while a sparse generator with huge dimensions increases the recharge rate of reactors, their block count is needed to sustain constant power drain like from huge thrusters or many turrets.

    If you look at

you can see a 1 block sized \"wireframe\" reactor along the entire inner hull of the ship, giving the reactor basically the same dimensions as the ship - or at least its center part. While this recharged realy fast, it also drained really fast when using thrusters and main cannons, to the point I wasn\'t able to sustain full thrust. It was only after i added \"volume\" to some parts of the reactor (without changing its total dimensions), that it was able to sustain constinuous fire. Still I don\'t rule out that I did something wrong there. I haven\'t fully understand how total power generation versus recharge rate is calculated in different load situations.

I also added power batteries (not visible in the pics, they are in the sealed side section of the ship next to the thrusters) to increase power reserves.
