So, first off, here is my test ship with 550,000,000 power capacity and a 5.7,000,000 recharge.
And it can fire the below weapon, easy:
But when I add one tiny cannon slave to it:
It uses a ridiculous amount of power:

As you can see by looking at the power bar, 550 million power units are sucked down by adding that single cannon slave. Is there a short in there somewhere that was added recently, this is on version 0.1932, stable with no mods...
