Background Music?

I actually started a piece of music the other night that\'s kind of spacey (heavily Star Trek inspired). It\'s only an intro mind!

I\'m almost always thinking of sci fi films and games when I write! I\'d love to have a crack at a game like Starmade, especially when it\'s something I\'m really excited about from a player\'s perspective.

But I\'m sure the SM guy(s?) already have something in mind for that. Here\'s some more if any of you are curious!

I mean, it\'s not bad music per say, it\'s just really not right for Minecraft. I find it kind of depressing.

No one said they have to be exclusive rights. That would bring the cost down significantly, I think. In addition, there are probably some indie artists out there who would agree to something of this nature at little to no cost, particularly if it gets their name out there . There is also quite the wealth of older songs out in the public domain; classical music wouldn\'t be totally out of place, I think.

Ideally some indie artists or hobbists would offer to write music for free. I would if I knew what I was doing...

Thanks Heskey! A bunch of stuff, but mainly Cubase 7, Kontakt 4 (old but I can\'t afford the upgrade yet), Reason. FWIW I dropped Schema an email. I don\'t know if he already has someone in mind for music/sound (maybe he\'s not planning any at all!) but I\'d love to work on a few atmospheres and background pieces for a game like this. I\'d happily work without payment if it helps the development of the game, and sort it out later if/when it takes off! Right now I just need the experience/credit.
