Bug Area Trigger not compatible with Button

While doing some updating on an airlock design of mine I realized that area triggers only work with activators but not buttons. Most likely this was just over looked but it would be very helpful to have fixed.

I can confirm that the area trigger only triggers one activation module next to it. With that, i could activate a gravity controller, but neither buttons nor other activation modules that are connected to buttons and rails.
Very sad bug, now my junk compactor does not work at all.
