And so I embark on a quest to finish the Andromeda Ascendant:

This is the smedit shell I have as of right now. I will be going over the entire exterior two to three times to remove the smedit garbage and make the ship symmetrical, as well as change the hull to white advanced armor.

    Planned Features

    Control Rooms:
    - Damage control room
    - Door and anti-boarding control room
    - Power generators and lights control room
    - Command Room

    Living Quarters:
    - 1000-5000 Ensign quarters
    - 500-2500 guest quarters
    - 1 Public washroom per 20 Ensign quarters
    - 1 Lieutenants quarters per 20 Ensign quarters
    - 1 Canteen per 100 Ensign quarters
    - 1 Clinic per 200 Ensign quarters
    - 1 Captain's quarters

    Stations:
    - Engine room
    - Generator room
    - Armory
    - Many turret stations
    - Weapon rooms
    - 1 Kitchen per canteen
    - Several storage areas

    Recreation:
    - Several Biodomes
    - Several rec rooms
    - Basketball court
    - Swimming pool

There will be several grades of hallways with one set for efficient military operation and the other for luxury accommodation. One example of a distinguishing feature between the two is that there will be gravity elevators for the military hallways and logic elevators for the luxury hallways.

There is an upper hangar for slipfighters and the main hangars and cargo bays are under the wings.

This is obviously an extremely large project, I don't think it will be finished for at least a couple years, this thread will evolve and become more accurate as I make more progress towards the final product.

Wow. That's quite a project you just took on. I hope you don't abandon it, the finished product sounds pretty sweet.

I'm guessing Full size or lag size version?

In any event good luck on this project and have fun. :)

    It's full size, 1305m long.

Like I said it will probably be finished in a couple years and that's because I'm likely to have weeks or months where I just don't want to work on it. It will be completed one day though.

    Military grade 2 hallway:

All hallways will have blue and red lights. A flash of blue signifies a call to battlestations. Red means that adjacent hallways are damaged and should be avoided. All hallways also have builtin damage detection.

Wow that's gonna be impressive to do all the hallways like that. There is a reason real ships take thousands of people years to build.

Thank god for copy/paste. The biggest hassle installing the hallways is going to be putting in the doors and all the clocks for damage detection. Every door in this ship is going to be a rails door and there will probably be a couple thousand doors.

So long as the game is programmed correctly docked entities should only do calculations when they move and so it should be fine. Although I must confess I bought a new graphics card to work on this ship because 15fps just wasn't cutting it.

    Any progress?
Because I am so psyched for this..
Just entered exam month. Gotta study and I just had a wave of assignments. I've been thinking a bit more about the interior design, I also made a bathroom.

    Clocks? Why?

Activated(blue) activation block (detector) -> "or" -> light control.

No clock required. If/when the activation (detector) block is destroyed the "or" should drop "low"(orange) giving your your damage signal. Throw in a "not" off the "or" connected to some doors and you can have the area auto-seal too.

I just tested the exact setup you stated and it didn't work.

Crew quarters. Yes if you fall out of bed you die.

The crew quarters are very open and compact. It's just a place to sleep and store your belongings.

As you can see there is also a very narrow walkway between rooms.

Sample garden. Gardens will be placed in between two rows of luxury bedrooms so that their windows overlook the gardens. I may even dedicate some gardens to sports and place nets and such.

Crew showers. These are pretty simple and compact. I'm going to use a tetra to represent the shower head and a metal grate for the drains. Since these are crew showers they are made of the cheapest material (basic hull) and lack variety/decoration.

This is an overview of what I have right now for internal rooms. It's not much, I plan on having much more such as kitchens, dining rooms, med bays, recreational rooms, tons of systems rooms, pools, armories, etc.
