and suddenly Star Trek

Sonething happed the last Weekend our Sever.
It started with one Person building an Excelsior class starship and withing a day at least 5 other people, including me, were building Star Trek ships.

I took it upon me to try to build myself a Constellation class.

It is by far not finished. Currently i try to smooth the hull and add details here and there.
I took some libertys here and there so it won't be a perfect replica.

Those look like great ships, I love Star Trek and I love seeing theses ships, Seems like a nice server to me when people build tons of ships suddenly.

Well what i found the most suprising thing, was that so many people stopped or paused building their current ships and started on a star trek design.

The only problem i always have is with makeing a star trek ship is turrets.
If they are to big, they break the design. and if they are to small they can not do anything and get overheated instantly.
And ships that size need turrets.

so i came up with an idea.

I noticed these on some models of the ship.



And i think they will make some decent turrets.

Ok the will be only on the underside... but better than no turrets.

When i finished it, surely.
Friendly warning though: That can take a while. From my previous builds i can tell you, that I get the hull finished relatively quickly. But the Interior ususally takes weeks.

Ok here is some of the progress i made on the Constellation. I am now starting to build the interior.





The following Ships are not made by me. But they are from my faction:

First the repainted Excelsior that started this madness:
It had originall the original colors but Avatar (The Player Who built it) decided to repaint it.
It is not an import, on the server we are playing the blueprint upload is deactivated, but he said he build a 1 to 1 copy by hand of an ship he downloaded somewhere.





Looks a bit "Borgified"





Oh and he started a Voyager:



This is a... well ... Fan-creation from Katar that uses several design elements from different Star Trek ships.









There is a Defiant flying around on the server i try to get some screenshots of that as well.

first of all that excelsior class looks awesome and i think it looks even cooler since it looks borgified will go well next to the one i found in the community content
second how many of these ships will be released to the public since these ships would be such fun to fly around servers on

and third is there any other ships that might be interesting i like what your doing keep up the good work

@Dragoon2000: i can ask my faction members if they want to release their ships. But it is their decision if they do it or not.
To the other question: define interresting. There are some ships flying around the server that i might find interresting. But i woul dneed to ask the people tha tbuild the ships first before.

lordWolfe: i will as soon as i have built the interior, which can only take ages.

The Constellations Interior is growing, but so far nothing spectacular enough to show it.
But i managed to get some pictures the small Defiant.

Okay mad props to this Avatar guy... It took me long enough to build the original Excelsior, I cant believe someone hand copied it! I'm pretty humbled that he thought my ship was good enough to take the time to do that.

Well Thadius i am not only a trekkie i am a big fan of many SciFi Universes.
The Star Trek build mania just suddenly errupted.
My Constellation is almost finished i just need to decorate the Rooms and i retrofitted her with a Jumpdrive. (now that one is available)

Which thread do you mean Farel17? Do you mena the "New Ships" Thread?
