As far as I can tell, there's no way to use analog axes on controllers for your thrusters. They're either on or off. I would like, for example, to use a joystick or a game controller with an analog stick in my left hand to control strafing while I control yaw, pitch, and guns with my mouse. There are a lot of possible setups. A few might be:
    • Dual joystick (check youtube for examples in other games)
    • Left hand joystick, right hand mouse (or vice versa)
    • Left hand game pad with analog stick (like Logitech G13) and right hand mouse
    • Left hand game pad and right hand joystick
    • Two gaming mice with additional buttons (that's a weird one, but someone might want to do it)
For any of these to work at their full potential, we need a way to control our thrusters with analog axes as well as keys. Now I don't mean >0 = on and 0 = off. I mean analog control, as in variable thrust output depending on how far you press the joystick or other device.

Of course joystick flight controls need to be fixed, period, but that's a different topic.
