Lots of firepower.
They do almost no damage what-so-ever but they're impressive! ...they're for point defense, who am i kidding. Even then, this is a little over kill.
I love it.

My 20k mass destroyer has 30 PD turrets. 90 bullets per second each. Thats 2,700 bullets per second!
