The current player-activation only setup is severely limiting in what we could be doing with gravity.
For example, in building a bidirectional L-shaped gravity tube, you have to have an extremely limited part of the corner for placing area detectors, and if a player is moving while in the tube, or wasn't lined up properly at the start, they can 'crash' into the corner, or more annoyingly, hit the wrong detector. If we could throw an RS NOR circuit into the mix, we could turn off the 'wrong' gravity depending on which way the player wants to travel.
Or, even better...
You put a passcode system on a door. Players who enter the correct sequence are allowed through the door. Players who try to guess and get it wrong get flung upwards into a grav tube network that eventually lands their pinko evil commie spying butts in a room made of lava.
