Allow beam bassed anti-missile weapons

    Cannon only anti-missile turrets is becoming a daft concept:

    And there is a clear meta to counter, ie;

    you're gonna want about 30-40 million damage per shot in that thing. Use missile beam overdrive to get that effect, and the power cost can go fuck itself since you'll only need one shot to kill your target anyways

    well yes - assuming better beam aim ...
    i suppose actual flak missiles/dummies, or interceptor missiles would be nice (but load heavy??)
    manually laser-guided missiles would be a neat player feature also.

    A way to do realistic flak is to have tonnes of docked entities that you undock when there swarm missiles are shot. Of course it only works with swarm missiles, but if you released enough, they might even kill missile+beam, or missile+pulse. Just an idea I've been thinking of putting on my ships. like R4 jettisoning Obi-Wan's ship's spare parts in Episode II to nuetralize Jango Fett's lock on missile.

    Also, you'd have a limited supply of those, so you'd have to make them count.

    Due to the fact that beams are hitscan, the ability to use them in point defence would be overpowered as all hell.

    Missiles need to become balanced, not underpowered.

    I recall a mention by a dev that they were looking at changing the hp system with missiles.
    Can anyone confirm:?
