it would be a block that you could use to change the settings of the ai computers on the turrets. so if you have multiple types of turrets in multiple groupings. you can change their settings via the controll block on the mothership

I don't think we need an additional block for that, rather a GUI improvement.

but we do need an additional block for it. it will make it much easier to set a group of ai's at once on your ship. you don't want to go through two hundred ai's and set them do you? with this you can have multiple groups of ai set with a one click of a button.

say you wanted to change a turret type on you ship between shooting at missiles or ships instead of going throgh a few dozen or hundred turrets on a ship and individually setting them. you can set them all at once from one block on your ship.

i don't think the GUI could handle something like this. because this is not setting all the turrets at once. this is setting specific groups of turrets

this is very helpful if you have multiple types of turrets on your ship

The GUI should be able to handle it just fine if it is modified to allow creating and managing groups. The GUI just doesn't do that at the moment, but you'd be going through a GUI interface with the control block anyway, right? I don't see a good in-game reason to require an extra block to change turret AI settings, rather than just improving the GUI to perform the same function.

I agree completely, you should be able to play the game without using the GUI/structure tab.
Imho using blocks for that just fits the philosophy of starmade (that was also why weapons sliders got removed)

I rarely have a reason to change behaviors on my turrets mid fight since most pvp is around 10-30 secs between large scale ships shattering each other at the moment - a master control bobby ai would be nice though to limit drone fighters or set up escort ships that will fly at certain distances or be able to assign targets but I think this is already working the wireless command block already laid down some interesting linking concepts as well
