Haven\'t had a new ship design to show you for a while and with a very good reason.
Having moved sector we are currently rebuilding our station and thought you might be interested in seeing where our building takes place.
So I present to you the meager beginnings of our home: Asgaard Space Station

The Draugr Class Heavy Destroyer is the oldest ship still in production in the Aesir fleet.
A battletested old wardog, it\'s reliable and tough and perfectly suited for escort, which is it\'s main function.
It\'s most often used in pairs, one on either side of the ship it\'s attached to in a fleet though they have been seen alone when patrolling a sector perimiter.
Although slowely being phased out by the onrush of larger, more heavily armed ships, it will always hold a special place in the heart of many Aesir warriors.

Nice ship, simple and beautiful. But I think it\'s more of a corvette, light frigate, isn\'t it? A destroyer would be around 100-200m length, at least for me.

The classes are given according to the Risen server class rules...technically it\'s a cruiser, but only by a few points of mass, so thought \"heavy destroyer\" was more fitting.

Good work, these types of ships are my favorite. Not ugly but not flashy, built for a role and does the role well. There really is no set standard for ship classes, they vary server to server, person to person. For me personally how I\'ve been trying to define my fleet, this barely makes corvette class. Keep it up, you\'ve become one of the few builders in starmade that I will use just about anything you release.

Another little update.
Been rather busy at the moment filling an order of 6 Draugr Class ships from the UNSF...heres a little snap shot of the ships in various stages of completion.

It will always be a matter of form and function, if I wanted something perfect in function I would make a cube, but that have no appeal so I try to strike a balance.

Could you please make a modified, more beautifull version of the Draughr-class? I really hate those stick-shaped ships.

Who would mass produce beautiful ships for war? A capital ship has to represent the faction, I guess, but most of the fleet has to be functional and cheap.

Ye, I\'m just thinking about \"reallife\" situations. The game is not that realistic, you could build a cube with everything on it, just as you said before.

Exactly, for me this game is about creating something that looks good...and most military ships, vehicles and planes look beautiful.
