A suggestion about AI, specifically Bobby

    What you have suggested with this whole post is quite true and better ship ai/ai crew have been mentioned to be planned content but a remote means of activating and controlling ai units needs to be added above all. Having to disembark a large cruiser/capital ship to edit bobby ai units even with the suggested content would be a hassle a bit contradictory to the subject.

    I was planning on suggesting something similar to this but with a few of other additions.

    firstly a seperate option for \'suicide bomber\' or \'torpedo\' should be added, (the reasons why should be pretty obvious)

    and secondly (not as sure about this one) an option to have ai ships automaticly undock from a ship when a hostile is detected and return when there is no more hostile so that you can build base defence drones.

    You should also be able to have your ai\'s activate when you detach them from your ship.

    The most important now is to could activate the turrets from the main ship!

    problems like this could be easily solved if schema implemented circuitry

    I can just imagine having allot of just big plates of aromour and sheilds flying around a big gun platform, making it invincible. I want this badly.

    The \"follow\" should have the option to choose in what formation the AI ships will follow you. I can imagine some simple formation editor where you can set the ships positions in 3d XYZ axis grid. Then you can save your formation and use it with a hotkey.

    The AI will try to keep it\'s place in a formation by any cost unless given a specific order (escort, patrol, etc...).

    I notice that pirate ships can fire missiles, while BOBBY ships cannot. Not sure why this is.

    What about sortie mode,go to this sector attack until

    a:timer runs out

    b:an enemy ship is destroyed

    c:its own sheilds are down

    d:all hostiles destroyed

    I think what would be even better is to incorperate a Lua library so we can program our own simple or complex AI for bobby
