A question regarding murdering planets

I destroyed a planet a month ago on the server that I play one, not a players planet just a random one to see if it was possible.

My question is even now the plant sections are floating in space separated still. Will these sections ever despawn or do they need to be destroyed one by one?

Also I was shocked at how easy it was to kill it !

They don't, I think. And I'm not sure about admin commands, since I don't mess with them since long ago.
