i know that this was just shown in the new update but i had another idea on how the planet could work.

at the moment every planet (flat ones) have there own gravity, and there are gravity blocks u put on space ships (i forgot what there called) well what if he just made a cube planet and every side had its own gravity, so like if u walk off the edge u flip around kinda like in portal and now ur on another side of the planet...

idk i hope its helps. but its just an idea

What happens at the courners of those planes? What happens when you mine through this planet\'s core and pass through all six gravity at the same time?

What if you make the planets spawn in each side at a time in rectangular prisms?
Each side generating with its own prism-shaped-gravety well.

It makes sense in my head, but i know not of your coding magics. (i dont particularely know of its effect on preformance, or how glitchy it would be.)

First your Idea is not new please be helpfull and just read an topic about planets...

Second They won´t get Realised cause some (don´t know how unfriendly I can be on this forum)some not very Intelligent Persons don´t get that nobody gives a F*** about getting tossed around a bit since it won´t ever happen to you if you don´t carve out the planets core by hand.

If you get stuck in the mid You could still create a ship core and fly away (even if the gravity won´t decrease there which would be pretty easy to do for schema.

How the hell are you planning to get in the center of the planet without an big mining ship anyway?

Well i agree with you on the fact that being tossed around a bit isnt incredibly annoying, but i think that if there should be a center it should be a small ball of unminable stuff so people arnt stuck in an endlessfall into the center. (possibly without a ship!)
Also, dont go assuming everybody on the forum is stupid cause they disagree with you.
Yes, im talking to you 3303!

I couldn\'t care less if we get spherical or cubical or oreo planet, but if the planet you get into the core of is say 10 blocks in diameter (on a \"3D\" planet the center would be 5x 5y 5z) the core the would be made of the center 8 blocks would NOT have gravity, as that would not only make you able to GTFO of there but in theory that\'s how it (Sort of, gravity will pull you in ALL direction canceling out each other making you float) is in the center of a planet/other big space bodys (That have a signiisant gravity pull that is)

(Nootau this part isn\'t as a direct reply to you) and opose to what one would think gravity decrease not only by going away from the core (or rather going away from the mass) of a planet but also when going closer (as you get more mass above you that is pulling you upwards)

Sometimes I assume a little too much =P Also I don´t think people who disagee are stupid.I think people who love the idea of crippling planets to Disks and say that anything else would be far more complicated are stupid.

Anyway deactivating/Lowering the gravity in the core would be pretty easy also jumping to the centre of an multiple hundert blocks big planet without a way back up is pretty strange.
