Well here is my first post on this forum, although ti comes with a very important note. These are things I would like into starmade as well as things I believe starmade desperatly needs. My opinion, leave comments if you disagree, I understand difference in opinion, but I think most of you will agree with this list.

Side note: I know there is work to be done in game, and some things that are being done allready. This is just my hopes and what I see the game needs through MY eyes.

(in order of least needed (10) to most needed (1))

    1. No more troll pirates

What I mean by this is no more pirates that attack only when you are building a ship, this makes it easy to bait pirates, but makes it very difficult to get started. I would like to see pirates attack ships that have flown a certain distance rather than ships that have built a certain amount. Also, I would like to be able to call attack on pirate bases (when near and not destroyed)

    2. Bigger planets

Now expieriance first hand at the horrors of new world gen to the current one, minecraft does this all the time it ALWAYS ruins my worlds, but honestly I dont think a new world gen could affect starmade much. Since the ability to save your work, even entire sectors, is available, saving a world and moving it is not to difficult. And bigger planets (I would like to see more lenght and width rather than depth) would add for much more of an explorer type feel. Imaging flying in a giant ship with a huge planet right next to you. Pretty cool eh?

    3. Possibly circular planets

Now that gravity blocks are gravitational towards the direction you stand in, possibly you could have a special gravity block for a planet, where a rectangular prism (dimensions determined by max block distance from origin) would determine where gravity goes. This would add so much more realism to the game!

    4. Tractor beam

This has been asked for alot, and probably will be added in some which way. But I think it should be added in such a way where the amount of tractor blocks placed in a group will determine ship size it can hold. And moving ships can only be held for 10 seconds at a time.

    5. Omni turrets

What I mean by "Omni" is a turret that has the ability to use ANY ship tool in game. Such as, any target selected would be salvaged by turrets with salvage cannons, any enemy ship within range will activate pulse cannons, and so on.

    6. Remove slow turning speed

This one is a bit ridiculous. I know about inertia and so forth, but I am not so stupid as to believe that the dimenstions determine turn speed! In space there is no air resistance, so ship turn speed on mass would be preferable. Also, there should be a type of power hungry (to counter OP super fast turning titanic ships) turning blocks. These would increase your turning speed.

    7. Factory workers

I know this might be in development, but a NPC that manages factories would be amazing. This would be a NPC that takes materials, puts them into factory, and puts them in a specific box when done. Would decrease massive scale factory work by like 99% lol. Probably have him have an hourly pay specific to amount of factory blocks he tends to.

    8. Better build tools

I want this in the new update. Its one of them I think is NEEDED! In a ship or station, you should be able to copy a specific selection and paste that (reflected with symetry as well) anywhere on the ship! Making generators would be SO much less tedious!

    9. A simple version of game

This might sound strange, but there needs to be a simple version of the game. Not a seperate version, but a way to play in the game that makes it easy. As I see, most of my friends have been scared out of starmade by its complexity, I'm no sales specialist here but that is really killing the population of starmade users. Most gamers have no idea how to pick up a game where there is no other option but to use your mind. Minecraft for example, it can be compicated, but a simple version of chop trees, play hunger games (though user developed), and build mines is apparent. Starmade single player worlds are VERY difficult to master and multi player worlds are EXTREMELY hard to be good in. I suggest a way to play starmade away from titanic capital ships made by people who know how to do stuff like that, like a gamemode where people can just run n' gun things their way. Such as spawning with a basic ship, make beginner items available in shop BEFORE all other items. Add a mode where you are invincible, always, so that noobs can learn how to fight without the fear of dying.

    10. Better in game sound, visuals, and general sensory input

I can't tell you the difference between starmade on mute and starmade with sounds on. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!! I do not want to listen to the ambient drone of a ship, or the space sound, it makes no god damn sense! Add some new sounds in the ship, like an occasional *beep boop* or whatever. Just something! and the visuals, they are just empty space with the occasional image. Not visuals as in explosions, gunfire, or star bloom effect, but like animated images in the backround to make the game more lively and feel better! It looks pretty ugly I would say at the moment.

Starmade is a great game as it is, and at the moment I love it! I hope you guys enjoyed my suggestions! Please get attention to this if you like it, it would be appreciated!

First, this being the most obvious thing, there IS a setting that allows a player to be invincible, its simply \"/god_mode (PlayerName) (True/False)

In response to your third suggestion, Schema has gone over why that would not work well at all

Your second suggestion: For players like me, who play on crappy computers, planets lag me enough as it is

Your first suggestion, I am pretty sure that there is no intentional code that makes pirates atack ships being built, and also, there is the big option of just building in the range of a shop, as pirates wont atack you when in the range of a shop

Your eighth suggestion: You could use SMedit, although it isnt exactley as easy as building in-game

your sixth suggestion: Slow turning speed is really a BIG part of keeping big ships as balanced as possible, the Idea you propose seems nice, but really, if the big ship has enough regen/storage, then really, you WOULD have an OP titan turning all over.

I do want to point out: the exploision of YouTube and other websites content on StarMade makes it a bit hard for anybody who actually wants to try the game out NOT to understand after watching a video, or reading a tutorial. I really dont think StarMade is complicated enough for someone to just close it, and never play it again. Theres even an easy in-game tutorial. I dunno of many people who wouldnt just look something up on the internet, or read the in-game tutorial.

Other than that, I really like your ideas!

    In reverse order, just because.

    10. In space, abject silence. If you\'re in the gravity of a ship or planet, noise. Shooting ships would cause no sound effect. Also, the backgrounds are perfectly fine. While I think more \"Void Geography\" should be added (i.e. Black holes, nebulae, neutron stars which serve as placable gravity wells, Wormholes leading to non-euclidean space, Azathoth, more varied stations, black market shops, supernovae, shipwrecks, asteroid clusters, comets [Essentially lumps of ice materials hurtling through space at high speeds.], gas giants, the like), I think the backgrounds are fine. Nice distant space dust.

    9. God mode exists but isn\'t exactly a good means of training people (Imagine giving somebody Superman\'s power, having them single-handedly take over Eurasia, then taking the power away and saying \"Ok. Do that again, but with North America.). I also feel that the game isn\'t truly that complex.

    8. SMedit.

    7. Well, factories don\'t require a ton of maintenance, but this would be quite useful for large arrays.

    6. Basically, what Blubber said.

    5. I do agree with this one.

    4. I also agree with the essential idea of this one.

    3. It\'s a bit terribly awkward to implement.

    2. Just, uh... myerh.

    1. Your experiences are coincidental, and building next to shops prevents this.

    5. Omni turrets

    Agree

Not dimensions, but where your mass is located affects the turning speed. A block at the far edge has to travel a longer distance than a block close to the center.

The current mechanism trys to respect that, although some ships are \"weird-shaped\" enough to behave not like they should.

It would all be easier, if we not only have a center of mass, but something like avg-x/y/z of blocks for the calculations.

    7. Factory workers

As long as it adds real benefits for balancing and not add lag... Else I have no real oppinion on that.

    8. Better build tools

    Who does not agree here?

I like your feedbsck, but I do not see how other people do not realize this. Try making a space station, a ship, or anything in SP within the range of about 2 sectors from a pirate base. Then try building a bunch of things, random things. You should get a transmission from the nearest pirate station. I have used this before and it still works. Maybe a very lucky placebo because it happens every time I start building.

    \"1. No more troll pirates\"

Pirates are very easy and underpowered just add a bit of shielding.

    2. Bigger planets

This I kind of agree with.

    3. Possibly circular planets

Now how in the fuck is schema or a developer going to impliment this. He has already said he is sticking with oreo planets. Also how are cube planets even remotely real?

    4. Tractor beam

Once again a suggestion with no idea as to how it will be implimented

    5. Omni turrets

    I agree with this

    6. Remove slow turning speed

Dufuck did I just read. You obviously have not taken coarses in physics or have no idea how the physical universe works.

    7. Factory workers

    I agree

    8. Better build tools

    I half agree

    9. A simple version of game

    no just no....

    10. Better in game sound, visuals, and general sensory input

    I agree.

Go into \"StarMade/data/audio-resource\" and listen to some of the sounds that have not been implemented. Keep in mine that most of these sounds have been around from the beginning and will be changed, but it will give you an idea for how much more still needs to be done.
