The game needs fuel as a resource and sector jump gates to add reasons for building different classes of ships in my opinion and increase tactical play.
Big ships should have greater range than fighters, fighters and smaller ships should only be able to operate within a sector and from a base...

Issues I see with the way Starmade currently is and doing this is that your 1st players in have a huge advantage.
Without early segregation the new players strip mine all the easy resources.
Also there is no reccuring resources that i\'m aware of apart from pirate ships...

Not sure what\'s going to happen when the balance patches hit, I guess people wont start again now they have a super star destoryer.
The problem is that they are insta hit like a rail gun and deal constant damage, no need to lead like a AMC.
I think the whole way mining works should be looked at as a part of the needed resource overhall.
The problem here, is that difference between sandbox world simulation and science fiction movies, the closer a simulation gets to being sandbox the less the ships seen in Sci Fi movies make sense. In Star Wars and a lot of movies / anime the setup of the vehicles is designed based around WW2...
