Best and easiest to add Landing gear would be: Simply having same thing as doors but retextured and controlable from inside of ship. you push button and it appears. thats it. :) now impelement it!! hah

Hello, I thought that it would be kinda logical and also really useful to lower detection of objects inside planet from outsiders and (for balance purpose>) outsiders from insideders. This could help better hiding of ships but would lower detection not too much as it would be sort of impossible...
