What's with the obsession with being an asshole here? Does it make your internet dick bigger or something?
This IS something that is holding new players back. My other two friends don't even want to mess with turrets, they just keep asking me for blueprints of them. I'm trying to look out...
This is a bit confusing, do you mean using the arrow keys like switching from ship core to camera, but in build mode switching from one docked entity to another docked entity (ship core to ship core)?
If you've played From the Depths they use the [ and ] brackets to switch from the main ship...
Yes exactly! I don't see any way to fix it either, but just adding from the great suggestions listed previously:
How about a Testing Button in build mode that will rotate each of the ship cores to see if they move correctly or not?
After it displays 1 of 2 messages:
"This is a turret"
"This...
As I said before, this is the Suggestions Thread. If I needed help or advice building turrets I wouldn't be posting here. Stay on topic and stop being a troll.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and understanding exactly what I'm trying to suggest. Those are great ideas. It would be awesome if they had an option in the advanced build mode to check a box [x] [Turret Helper] and it highlights where the correct placement of it would...
Well and now I have to take this forum off the "no a**holes here" list. It was a good run, but someone just had to stop by to be that person.
Look I made my suggestion, asked why it is this way, and everyone is just being a bunch of d***s. I thought this was a mature community but I guess...
1) A tutorial video was what I was using and it is a year old (turret building mechanic unchanged) so it works. They only added a new way to build them with the same mechanics.
2) I did test it. I just didn't think it moving in reverse would confuse the bobby AI, usually the turret refuses to...
I spent a couple hours building turrets today and guess how many of them work correctly right now?
Just 1 of 2. The 2nd one moves in reverse, so it seemed to be working until I put bobby AI on it then turned out to be a useless piece of junk the AI can't use.
I hate coming back to Starmade...
Good idea! It'd be great if this also worked on stations for quick and easy transportation that dsn't result in crashing into walls with those derpy barrel rolls. :D
It isn't an upgrade to the interface though. It's an upgrade to the AI on the ships, like how From the Depths does it (which is an RTS hybrid game where you have to use different types of AI Cards on the ships to be able to issue more commands like Patrol)
Capital Ships should of course also...
The first line of my first post says - "Sounds like a pretty good idea! I do have one thing to add, an idea for Progression in the system:" Please read the posts!
That's all I wanted to add in. As for NPCs you could allow more complex commands as they "level up" but who knows how the...
Wouldn't this also make a "Processing Ship" possible? Basically like the massive fishing vessels that gut and can tuna while at sea, pull the asteroid onto a rail and the rail feeds it through salvage beams.
Starmade definitely has the potential for these aspects (Pirating/Smuggling), but we'll have to wait and see when the economy update is released in the future to see its application and scope.
Ok so basically I'd have to build jump inhibitors all over my territory to prevent this from happening...
Not at all. This is something really being worked on. It's all concept at the moment (NASA, IBM, and MIT are in the process of working it out) but the idea is to use Gyroscopes at each joint in a suit to simulate gravity for astronauts.
In terms of Starmade though.....Magnetic Boots would...
That seems like a lot to implement in terms of coding.
I was thinking that a Station "Home" block would be spawned in like a "Station Core" that you load a blueprint into and then AstroTech beam turrets would shoot it and the station would build by branching outward from the "Station Core."...
This idea in general would actually limit diversity in gameplay and strategy. Pirating would be significantly harder and Smuggling would be significantly easier with any of the "Catapult" ideas implemented. The only way to resolve that would be another type of "Jump Inhibitor" which (to me)...
Yea I meant "not Rebirth," just changed it lol. A lot of the modders from X-3 AP/TC won't even touch Rebirth, they said it's too limited and buggy to do anything fun with.
I'm thinking this system should have a limited range of operation so that NPC crews will be required for long range...
Sounds like a pretty good idea! I do have one thing to add, an idea for Progression in the system:
If you've played the X series (not Rebirth, but Albion Prelude/TC) there are different levels of AI software upgrades that give more commands. How about a Command Center Computer (for stations)...
That's a good idea with the nano hacking bots, and could use the same mechanic the chemical and plasma DoT weapons just with different affects to the enemy ships.
I personally don't like the idea of bombers in Starmade since it doesn't translate well in resources. Think of how much...
Great idea, reminds me of a couple minecraft mods. It'd be nice if there were also premade "stamps" like a simple Clock you can stamp down on the grid to make it less "intimidating."
